In Montana and across the United States, 988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK).
988 is Montana?s dedicated crisis lifeline available to anyone who may be in suicidal crisis, emotional distress, or concerned about a loved one. When people call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network of over 200 independent crisis call centers across the nation.
